Academic Program Description
The objective of this program is to provide
students with the opportunity to develop oral and write Spanish skills through
language courses of varying levels, and to learn about the Caribbean society,
economy and culture.
This objective
will be achieved through university courses, Spanish Language, and courses of
the Dominican and Caribbean culture, Afro-descendants in the Caribbean,
Caribbean literature, and African Heritage, work with local non-profit
organizations on and optional development internships, community and social
services which place students directly within the mainstream of Dominican
society, among others topics in the Dominicans universities.
Course Approved University Programs:
- Spanish Language: 6-9 credits
- Dominican and Caribbean Culture: 3 credits
- African Heritage: 3 credits
- Caribbean Literature: 3 credits
- Community Service: 1-3 credits
- Dominican Gastronomy 1-3 credits
- Dominican Dances 1-3 credits
- Internship: 3-6 credits
- Creole: 1-3 credits
- Frances: 1-3 credits
